Because of the ball in the turret design, you have the option to have the camera mounted on the ceiling or a wall (with the help of an IP enclosure for the cable or get the cable straight into the wall). You can then maneuver the ball in the turret so it covers the surveillance view.
The lens and infrared are separated on different rings
Having a separator means that it prevents IR bleed, that happens quite often with other cameras in cases of rain or snow particles covering the lens.
